Objective

In this lesson we will examine suffixes and their meanings.

  • In previous lessons, we took a look at the history of affixes, linguistic hand-me-downs from Greek, Latin, and Anglo-Saxon. These heirlooms can be used to indicate parts of speech, which can be an important clue in discerning the meaning of a word. Such language logic contributes not only to discovering the meaning of a word in its context, but also to solving analogies.
