Transcripts

All teacher certification candidates are required to provide American Board with an official transcript from the institution that issued their bachelor’s degree. Many colleges and universities charge a transcript request fee. Please contact your college or university’s Bursar/Registrar’s Office to confirm the transcript fee, and for details on how to request transcripts.

FAQs

Common Questions

Quick answers about sending your transcripts and how they are reviewed.

Can I email or mail a copy of my transcripts that my college or university sent me?

No. For your transcripts to be considered official, they must be sent directly from your college or university, or from the third-party service they use to issue transcripts.

Does my bachelor’s degree need to be in the subject area I want to teach?

No. All American Board future teachers must have a bachelor’s degree, but it can be in any field and does not have to match your teaching subject.

How long will it take for my transcripts to be reviewed and approved?

It takes our team 5-7 business days to process transcripts. You will receive a notification in your American Board account when your transcripts have been approved.
