Flexible Options to Fit Your Life
Installment Plans
We pride ourselves on our affordability and flexibility. We recognize some people are more comfortable paying smaller amounts over time, compared to the one-time fee, so we offer flexible 9-month installment plans. We don’t believe finances should stand between great teachers and the classroom; all of our teachers should be able to step into the classroom debt-free.
Reduced Enrollment
We offer reduced enrollment to candidates who qualify. If you qualify for reduced enrollment, you will receive a discount on the cost of the American Board Standard Certification Program in the subject of your choosing. The discount will be taken directly out of the cost of the program. You will also still be able to pay for the program using our installment payment option.

Pricing Questions
What if I change my mind?
You can get a full refund within seven days of enrolling, installment payments included, and up to 80% back within 30 days if you paid in full.
What if I need to retake an exam?
Your first PTK exam and first subject area exam are covered by the program fee. If you need to retake one, the fee is $195.
Can I use FAFSA or the Post 9/11 GI Bill?
No. As the American Board is certification based and does not offer individual courses, we do not accept FAFSA, the Post 9/11 GI Bill, or other scholarships.
Is there a discount for military members?
Yes. American Board offers a special reduced rate of $1,000 for members of our armed forces. Learn more.
